Crazy For Braids

Braids have been around for a very long time. Once a staple look for little girls and Emirati grandma's. Now its one of the chicest ways to wear you're hair.

Its easy to braid. It can look both casual or formal. It can also help you when you're having a bad hair day.

Its officially our favorite summer hairstyle! <3

Will braids survive into fall?

How To Wear: The Maxi

A few blog posts ago we talked about our summer obsessions, one of which is maxi skirts. WE LOVE THEM! and we're sure our mothers do too!

Fashion forecasters predict maxi skirts will be HUGE this fall.

The question is how do you wear the maxi skirt without looking like old-fashioned or worse: OLD ?

Here's how! (in our opinion)

1- Stick to straight cuts and soft fabrics. It looks modern and chic.

2- Tuck in your blouse/shirt

3- Wear a belt if you have the tinest feeling that you look a bit shapeless.

4- You CAN wear jackets or cardigans with your maxi outfit. (you will NOT look like an old lady)

5- Avoid TOO flowy skirts. Avoid wearing shapless or bulky tops. They might look good on the runway but not on the regular fashionista!

These are not rules, they're just guidelines. So if you break any of them, and think your outfit looks good then it probably does. (just don't break all of them at once!)

Will you be wearing a maxi skirt? More importantly how?

Lets Talk Couture: Armani Prive

It's no secret that we LOVE Mr. Armani. We love his classic clean style, his hotel, and the clothes he designs!

We were so lucky acquaintances had tickets to the Armani Hotel opening (we would've killed for them anyways!) and so we got to see a REAL couture fashion show of Armani Prive.

The last collection focused on silvers, whites, and blacks. It was so magical! Like a modern fairytale princess's wardrobe.

The current collection (fall 2010) is different. The main colors are neautrals, grays, browns, and black (it wouldn't be Armani if there was no black). Instead of those pearly white ball gowns from last collection this time we're seeing A-line cuts in golds and charcoal plus there is more SPARKLE.

We're loving the tailored cuts, the way the fabric holds itself, and the way its meant to cling in all the right places!

If last collection was modern fairytale princess, then this collection is more glamorous hollywood icon meets business tycoon.

See for yourself:

We're totally loving the femme mens wear especially that leather blazer. Plus the camel colored jumpsuit is AMAZING. As for the gowns, we love the black sparkly one AND the light gold sparkly dress (numbers 17 and 18).

What do you guys think??
